Greenvale Farms has always strived to run a sustainable business. We pioneered the process of producing an organic fertiliser back in the nineties by processing poultry manure into pellets, being years ahead of future competitors. Greenvale always sourced local manures, which kept our carbon footprint to a minimum We used several local farmers to provide our raw material ,which until then was spread straight onto their land producing nitrate run off ,polluting local streams and rivers. By purchasing their manure resource, we reduced pollution in local waterways and provided much needed extra revenue for their farming business , helping them become more sustainable All our employees were local people within a 10 minute drive so we helped the local economy We perfected the process of composing the manures over several weeks by regularly ‘turning’ the compost until it was ready for drying. We then dried the manure to a certain moisture level which allowed us to pellet the product Greenvale pellets revolutionised the gardening sector in organic feeds. Literally millions of gardeners have since turned  away from chemicals to using organic  chicken manure  pellets. The impact and benefit on the soils and wildlife  around the UK will have been considerable We also have supplied many farmers and growers the forestry and amenities over the decades, our product improves soil structure, helping to break heavy soils up increases microbial life and does not leach nitrates into local waterways as chemical feeds do. The beneficial  impact Greenvale Farms has made on the environment over many years cannot be underestimated. We now employ a production company to fulfil our demand, we always ensure Greenvale is produced to the same, high standards as it always been and remains a fully organic Soil Associated approved product Greenvale Farms has enjoyed full Soil Association organic status since its early beginnings over 30 years ago. Greenvale continues to try and reduce plastic usage where possible ,so we now offer to supply our product in 500kg instead of 25 kg bags as an alternative ,this considerably reduces the amount of plastic used in packaging Greenvale continues to reduce or eliminate plastic usage wherever possible
